When the afternoon sun gets serious, flip your schedule and hit Peghorn Nature Park’s 58 acres of boardwalks and trails first thing in the morning. Beyond the air conditioning and shelves of picture books, the library’s Summer Learning program runs June 1 through July 31, with story time, songs, and hands-on activities built for the under-five crowd.

Early story time does a lot of quiet heavy work for little brains, growing vocabulary, attention span, and a love of books long before kindergarten. Let your child pick the stack this time, even if it’s the same truck book three visits running. Repetition is how preschoolers learn, and getting to choose builds their confidence too. Mick Farms Family Market Near St. Cloud
