The holiday season is full of “hustle and bustle,” which can be great or stressful… depending on how you enter in!

The American Psychological Association explains that healthy families have conscious and implemented techniques for handling stress.*

Here are some ways to slow down and enjoy the season:

  1. Literally slow down. Walk, eat, drive, shop, and do things slower. Author and blogger Henrik Edberg has written on the Top 5 Reasons to Slow Down (along with tips!).
  2. Stop for Fun. Do you see an apple orchard on your way to the bank? Stop and pick apples as a family! Open your schedule to accommodate spontaneous acts of fun.
  3. Giggle & Smile! Studies have shown that your brain is connected to your facial expressions*… so if you smile even when you don’t feel like it, you may start to feel like it!

We live in pursuit of joy… and hope that you find some joy for yourself today!
