Last month at Creative World we had a blast building UP! Build It Up is a blast every year as we explore design, architecture, construction, and all of the elements that go into building. Check out some of the awesome inquiry activities we enjoyed:
Free drawing our block creations
Is it magnetic? Open-ended exploration with nuts, bolts, and more
How are walls made? Some are made with bricks – we investigated the bricks in our building
How important are measurements? We constructed designs with specific measurements and measuring tools
Dramatic Play got a construction spin with our hard-hat parade
What did we create? Take a look at our homemade blueprints
Our inquiry culminated in an Extreme Sizes Skyscraper Challenge! Parents voted for winners
Older students visited a real construction site!
How do WE measure up? We investigate numbers with real-life application
We got our hands on real tools (safely!)
Does it match? We investigated how nuts and bolts fit together
Using grid paper and real blueprint samples, we explored what goes into architectural design
Each month at Creative Word features an exciting new inquiry where we get hands-on and explore learning at each of our developmental stages. Check out your Creative World to learn more about how our Toddlers, Twos, Preschoolers, and PreK students are getting busy investigating brand new ideas!
